Cadillac CTS 3.6 (by GM)

Here’s a rare sight in Denmark, the full-fat Cadillac CTS with its 3.6 litre powerplant.

I noticed a 2 cm or 3 cm square badge located behind the front wheel arch, forward of the leading edge of the front door. It says GM. Who needs to know who doesn’t know already? Is there a badge on the sill kickplate that says “Body by Fisher”? Nearby was an Opel Insignia that looked far more carefully made and with better detail design than the Cadillac.

I like anchovies. I dislike post-war town planning.

  1. “better detail design”
Since we recently touched upon this: What would that be?
I kind of like the actual Cadillay design for its distinctness, but have to admit that this rests almost solely on pictures.

  2. It looks fine from ten metres. Up close you see how they didn’t finish the chrome trim on the rear bumper properly. The ends stop abruptly. The chrome sideglass frame has a sharper radius on the inside than the outside. It should have been properly parallel with the inner and outer radii consistent. The grille looks fragile: again the radii seem to be too small. Apart from that it’s a perfectly acceptable alternative to a BMW or Audi or Mercedes. I don’t give a stuff about the on-limit handling or the exact quality of the interior. Being alright and a bit different is more than a USP for me. Hats off to anyone who buys one.
