2016 wasn’t a classic Geneva, but a good social occasion. The big surprise this year was how well dressed everyone was. Everybody looked like they were somebody important, fashion victims abounded. Previously the norm was casual to the point of being unkempt, particularly those with ‘design’ or ‘styling’ in their job titles. I think there was a secret plot to show up Marchionne, who turned up looking like a binman who hadn’t had time to change after his shift. The Maserati merchandise shop had some of his hand-me-downs: (See above).
After the full two and a half days I felt carred-out. God knows what it was like in the old days when every country in Europe had a major show. I’d bet Belgrade was a good gig, but it’s no wonder Archie Vicar went to an early grave.
