  1. Spot on!

The Chevrolet Cavalier was sold in Japan as a Toyota Cavalier, in some sort of gesture to ease the USA / Japan trade imbalance at the time.

The previous generation Sevel Nord Scudo / Jumpy / Expert trio were joined by a Toyota ProAce, which also features in the current Fiat-less generation.

The Commodore became a Toyota Lexcen (nothing to do with Lexus – it was named after a boatbuilder, who was also born under a different name) under the Button Plan. During this unhappy era, the rest of the Holden range comprised the Corolla and Camry, rebadged Nova and Apollo respectively, backed up by an assortment of Isuzus and Suzukis.

The Mazda 2 becomes a Toyota Yaris for the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

    Happy New Year!
