The last “mystery” car proved entirely unmysterious, partly because DTW’s readership includes ex-owners and people with uncanny memories and powers of observation.

It’s time to take the oven gloves off. All I can say is that it’s rear-drive. I’ll get back when I feel you’ve twisted long enough in the wind.
I’m guessing it could be a late 80s BMW 7 series.
Just found your website – it’s really fabulous!
Hi Duncan:
Thanks for the good review – please spread the word.
It’s not a BMW.
Happy New Year to all at DTW, is it a Renault 25?
Hi: thanks!
It’s not an R25. It’s rarer and rear drive.
That’s difficult. I like the delicate chrome border, and the brightwork has a nice, anodised sheen to it. But the latter’s too bright for an ’80s/’90s Mercedes, and BMW’s brighter still. Audi didn’t shape their b-posts in this fashion, so I guess the car in question isn’t German.
Correct: it is not made in Germany.
Could it be a Jaguar? XF (former generation) maybe?
The Pillar looks very similar there, and my image search even showed some ill-fitting examples like the one you have shown.
Hello: creative but no. I can reveal it is a car with a resurrected nameplate.
Bentley Continental Flying Spur?
RWD…
With that crummy trim? Er… no.
Chrysler 300 / 300c / Lancia Thema ?
Bingo!
And wierd.
You might be right. I was thinking of Alfa Giulia (resurrected name, RWD), but the thickness of chrome strip related to the black pillar parts is lower on the Alfa.
I’m impressed. Both by Roberto’s set of eyes and the Chrysler’s brightwork.
It’s a Thema on Danish plates.
